Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

I have been using Kofax, formerly Nuance, for the past 5+ years for my everyday needs to edit, create, and convert PDFs and other document types for various projects and compatibilities. Quite often we have a need to convert a PDF to another format like Word and Power PDF does a great job with the conversion, back and forth. The main reason I chose the product is the price. Being able to edit and create PDFs, similar to other products such as Adobe, etc., without paying 5x the cost per user, is a huge difference! The ability to use tabs to have several documents open at once is great. It's also easy to comment and share within those documents. Printing from any program to a PDF is very handy, especially when there is compatibility issues with formatting or viewing a page or document. The OCR feature is handy, and being able to convert image-only documents to searchable text is helpful, without losing the image.
  • Converting Word Documents to editable formats.
  • Converting Excel Documents to editable formats.
  • Compressing PDFs or removing pages.
  • Great user interface that is easy to use.
  • Mobile options for Android or iOS.
  • More font compatibility.
  • Improve OCR functions without losing document formatting.
  • Cost Savings - Huge price difference when comparing to other applications.
  • Time Savings - Easy to learn UI.
Very easy to use! The ribbon toolbar at the top is similar to other applications, like Office products and Adobe Products. The individual tabs are labeled simply, but easy to understand what features you might find there, without having to look up what you need. Haven't had any complaints when moving around the application to find what I want.
The main difference is price, that is a huge win! Other than that, they are similar in functionality. Being able to edit and create PDFs is what I use it mostly for, and doing that without breaking the bank is a win!
I have not had reason to use support at all. The programs works as intended and easy to use without having too many questions.

Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
Being able to edit, create, and convert PDFs and other Office documents to other formats, without losing formatting.
Well suited when needing Adobe Pro features in an application, without having to lose and arm and a leg in price. Not really applicable for users that just need to view PDFs, they can use another basic PDF viewer to do that.
