Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

Our organization uses it anytime a PDF document is needed from editing PDFs to creating them from any document. Some specific uses include to:
  • Convert forms to fillable forms.
  • Convert pdf documents to WORD or EXCEL documents.
  • Submit invoices, grants and other documents as one document.
  • Add signatures to documents.
  • Make notes when reviewing documents with clients.
  • Create one document from multiple documents (PDF and other).
  • Create forms from Word documents that perform calculations and other functions.
  • Allows redacting of information in a document if needed.
  • The edit text function is challenging for me. Being able to convert a document to edit it without having to create a new document has helped immensely.
  • I miss the Replace page in the new version I just purchased.
  • The Crop feature does not work as I expect it to, but is usable.
  • Cost savings - excellent price point for a small non-profit.
  • Time savings - I do not have to use any tool other than my laptop to invoice clients, create reports, collect data, etc.
  • Increased professionalism. I never have to send a copy of a document that shows deteriorated quality.
I have been able to use the product successfully by trial and error. I rarely use the documentation, but it is there if needed. It is intuitive, but I have also used Nuance for over 10 years, so it is hard to remember the learning curve.
I have only used the Power PDF programs.
I have only needed to use customer support once and was helped immediately.

Google Ads (formerly AdWords), Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365), QuickBooks Online
Creating fillable forms that can have data saved in them.
Creating PDFs for clients from documents that I have created.
Converting PDFs to edit, for example updating our letterhead when our address changed, or to refresh marketing pieces that are stored as PDFs.
To customize forms and make them fillable. When working from home, we do not have the opportunity to print a page, complete it by hand and upload it back to the computer. I can work from home without the need to print, scan or handle paper. Excellent use of resources and produces professional looking documents.

Using Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

2 - Direct service to clients, intake forms, electronic submissions and e-signing documents to support remote work. Our industry is heavily dependent on paperwork to collect demographic information for the clients served by our non-profit. We continue to benefit from the efficiency of creating forms in Kofax Power PDF and emailing them to clients to be completed and returned. We have been able to work remotely since the beginning of the pandemic and will likely continue working remotely due of time and cost savings.
1 - As the director of a small non-profit, I provide the in-house support and lead our team by creating forms and processes that are improved by using Kofax Power PDF. The cost of the product has more than paid for itself. We were first introduced to this product in 2010 and have used it consistently since that time. Our admin team at the time was much larger and the forms were created to collect information. Most recently, I created a package that autopopulates documents that need to be delivered to clients. For example, I can create a spending plan for a client and forward it to them to review and correct and they can be sent back to me. The totals are then transferred automatically to an action plan that is the sent to the client. This meets the requirements of grant programs that govern our paperwork and saves time and is stored electronically. At this time, we use no file cabinets in our offices (main office or remote).
  • Collect Information by creating forms
  • E-sign Certificates for Clients using the signature feature
  • Convert documents from Microsoft Products to Kofax Power PDF and Back
  • Edit and annotate other PDFs to keep files and client progress documented
  • Being able to convert PDF documents to Excel or WORD for editing
  • Standardizing forms and document collection to meet Federal Grant Requirements
  • Sending documents to clients that they can read on their phones without having expenses programs at home
  • We want to explore the Import/Export Data from a form feature to streamline the data collection process and prevent double entry into other systems
It has exceeded our expectations which were quite high because we have used the product for so long. The typewriter and editing features are easy to use and have been a very useful tool for our financial coaching sessions.
