Overall Satisfaction with Linode
We have been using Linode virtual servers since day one to host our website. We use the Backup Service to keep those virtual machines backed up, and the monitoring services to make sure things are running smoothly. Our needs are relatively modest, but we're confident that there is plenty of room to grow with Linode as our needs expand.
- Easy to spin up new servers and services.
- Quick response from customer service when issues arise.
- Clear, timely communication when underlying systems are being upgraded or fixed.
- Monitoring would be more useful if it had more reporting capabilities (like if disk space is running low).
- Upgrades to the plans seemed like they used to be a more regular occurrence.
- Linode has never been an expense that we have had to question, cost has always been fantastic for the service engaged.
We have been using Linode so long, it's hard to remember why we would have considered anything else. A long time ago, I had a colocated service at a local data center, and clearly that had a limited upgrade path and would have made very little sense to continue with at the scale of projects at the time.
We have modest needs, and Linode has always been a fantastic value for us, but backed by the knowledge that they provide the capabilities for us to expand as we need more. My problem is that I don't have more elaborate needs to be able to take advantage of all of the great services they provide and continue to roll out.
Online sales are an increasingly important part of our business, and Linode's reliability has never been a concern as we continue to rely upon it. I'm confident that they have the capabilities we will need as new opportunities and challenges arise.
