Overall Satisfaction with Linode
I use Linode to run my own LAMP servers to serve my client's WordPress sites. I choose Linode because it is the perfect balance between cost, performance, and the features I'm looking for. Even after using them for several years now I feel no need to look for a new service as they continue to impress me year after year.
Pros
- Their pricing is more fair and logical than their competitors.
- They have some of the fastest data centers I've used.
- Their build tools are my favorite among their competition.
Cons
- They lack Windows based servers.
- They lack more advanced features.
- Some of their current features tend to be shallow.
- Has kept my server costs consistent and predictable.
- Has allowed me to have to think about my hosting budget too much for a few years.
- Will allow me to continue providing hosting to my clients at a profitable rate.
I much prefer Linode over the other cloud providers except in situations where I feel the site in question might need to rapidly scale, as I feel the only place Linode might suffer is at scale. But that being said I've never had a site ran on a Linode server run worse than a DO or LW site.
