Overall Satisfaction with Marketo
We use Marketo for subscription based newsletters, lead management, nurturing leads, and providing updates and invitations to conferences and events. It is being used by marketing only.
Pros
- "Cloning" or duplicating previous campaigns/emails
- Lead scoring
- Interfacing with Salesforce
- Ability to keep track of prospect activities
- Saves time being able to clone programs and campaigns while altering small features or tokens
Cons
- Templates
- Drag and drop for email creation and design
We have been able to engage and grow our relationship with existing customers as well as prospects. Additionally, we are better able to coordinate events and track engagement.
I have recently evaluated Hubspot as I think it has the same features but is easier to use, better for smaller businesses and I love that creating emails through drag and drop are so easy. Haven't yet made the decision to switch because I don't have the bandwidth to switch right now but if I were to go back in time I probably would have started with Hubspot.
Also looked at Pardot. I didn't like the interface and I feel like SFDC should stick with CRM.
What I learned is that all of these marketing automation tools are very similar, with one feature different here or there. Ask about doing trials before signing up since it is so time consuming to switch! Also, make sure you understand exactly what you are getting and not getting. Make sure you know how long the ramp up time is from the second you sign up and what the transition entails.
