Overall Satisfaction with MasterControl Quality Excellence

We use it as our Quality Management System. The business problems addressed at the launch were a validated, fully digital document management system. We also began looking at the additional features MasterControl offers and started implementing additional modules.

Pros

  • Validated document management system.
  • Responding to customer feedback.
  • Continuing to improve their system.

Cons

  • MasterControl sometimes feels rather clunky. Especially in FBS forms.
  • AQEM feature development is incremental, and I wish we had more within that right now!
  • Increased accuracy.
  • Fewer re-routes.
  • More documents in less time.
It requires a lot of help to get set up, as well as training at various levels to help users feel comfortable within the system. However, once it is learned, it becomes pretty intuitive.
I haven't researched others, so I cannot say exactly.

It is very well suited as a quality management system. I wonder how it would function in other industries using a more agile project management experience because this is very traditional/waterfall in nature.
