Overall Satisfaction with MATLAB
We use Matlab for early prototyping of new technology. It is familiar to many and the environment makes a large amount of experimentation pretty easy. We have also deployed solution compiled from Matlab and using their run-time to production.

- the overall environment is good to work with
- compatible with work done years ago
- staying current with the latest algorithms
- good ROI for rapid prototyping when licenses are well matched to the size of the team
- hard to adjust licensing to ups and downs of the team which makes it costly
- Python
Python is more general but the environment is up to date quickly. Managing configurations is sometimes trickier in Python. MATLAB is very compatible internally.
