Overall Satisfaction with Mendix

Since we are a Mendix partner, we use Mendix as a Rapid App Development (RAD) platform for building web based applications (multidevice). We build a number of apps, from small responsive web apps to large enterprise ready systems with lots of interfaces and complex workflow. All is possible in Mendix and there are (barely) no limitations. Since the platform is based on open standards, it is easy to integrate with third party systems, making Mendix ideal for gathering information from business critical environments (Mode 1 systems) and allowing customers to launch innovative new ideas (in the Mode 2 Mendix application) without the risks of harming the existing business. It is even more powerful when you use the social collaboration platform that is part of the Mendix ecosystem allowing you to have an Agile Lifecycle Management experience for your whole app development. Feedback from customers, change that to user stories by the product owner, relating the user stories to developed functionality by the team, deploying your application to the cloud and monitoring your app in the same environment.

  • Reporting possibilities in the platform are limited
  • They might want to support more cloud platforms (this is becoming better with Mendix 7)
Mendix is a great platform for organizations that do not have Java developers and want to develop apps quickly. The intuitive platform and development environment allows for fast realization of web based apps that run on desktop, laptop, tablet and phone. You can even use the phone related functionality (location based, camera, notifications). The standard integration with platforms like IBM Watson and AWS allows for Internet Of Things (IoT) functionalities. Due to the open standards it allows for easy integration with remote systems and therefore can be used as a Mode 2 platform for innovative ideas that need to be market ready in no time.
