Overall Satisfaction with Metabase

We use it as our core BI platform to store and analyze data across the entire surface area of our organization. We use it to store data, analyze data, and generate reports for our customers to understand platform performance. We also have plenty of dashboards built to make quick analysis of whats going on.

Pros

  • Natural language querying could be a little easier
  • easier to edit queries
  • easier joins
  • We can make great reports for our customers quickly
  • We can store customer data dynamically
  • we can create customer specific metrics
I thought Metabase was the easiest option that allowed for flexibility. However, I did need dedicated engineering resources to get the system configured and basic queries started

Its generally quite easy to use but some SQL is definitely important
Metabase is great if you have a lot of data coming in from a lot of sources and want to understand and analyze that complete data set. Its great for customization of dashboards etc. but is not the MOST intuitive tool out there so some technical experience is certainly required to get it going and get the most out of the platform.
