Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft 365 Business Premium

We use Microsoft 365 Business Premium to run our entire organization. The main problem was that we needed an MDM. We have a mix of Apple products and Windows computers. Microsoft 365 Business Premium gives my organization a single pane of glass to manage all of my computers and deploy software.

Pros

  • Deployment of Windows computers
  • Management of Apple products
  • Deployment of Windows based software

Cons

  • Some of the Apple support is lacking
  • It is difficult to deploy some software packages without getting into scripting
  • Microsoft has a separate site for everything.
  • Allows for a single administrator to manage hundreds of computers
  • Microsoft 365 Business Premium is a little difficult to deploy software on
  • Works well with Apple and PCs.
Microsoft 365 Business Premium has a site for everything. There is one for account management, one for computer management, one for identity and so on. These sites are not laid out in a logical way and require extensive knowledge of how to use each product. The novice user has a steep learning curve.
Jamf Pro works much better with Mac products and gives a much better set of scripting options and feedback. With Microsoft 365 Business Premium I may know that a deploy failed but I won't always know exactly why a deploy is acting the way it does or why exactly it failed. Jamf gives a much better feed back experience for Apple products.

Microsoft 365 Business Premium is well suited for medium sized and large businesses. It works well and can easily help a lone admin manage computers in a distributed environment. Microsoft 365 Business Premium is probably not great for smaller companies or startups. There are better systems that can provide a more customized experience.
