Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft 365 Defender
Defender is installed on all of our computers. We currently have about 40 laptops in about 15 different locations. At first, we used a free version but discovered the need for stronger protection. It’s transparent to our end users and seems to be glitch-free. It has stopped malware attacks numerous times.
Pros
- Actually, it stops questionable websites from gaining a foothold.
- Affordable protection for our end users.
- Defender identifies questionable websites and allows the end user to allow or deny access to the site.
Cons
- Defender should be available for my Google users.
- Phishing protection is minimal.
- Defenders should be capable of working in conjunction with other anti-malware installations.
- I feel confident we won’t have costly service interruptions when having Defender installed.
- Any added cost is always questioned. Microsoft security is good. Defender is an added cost for the possibility of problems. It needs to be looked at with an eye toward total endpoint costs.
- The ability to purchase Defender with a Microsoft 365 subscription makes added costs minimal.
The need to install, implement, and monitor security on all endpoints required significant investments in time. Tracking installations and keeping the previous security systems up to date has been simplified.
Now, it’s more of a one-time installation and minimal monitoring to maintain an up-to-date security system. It minimizes the end users' need for involvement. Overall, it makes system security a lot simpler.
No. But I intend to investigate it to see if it’s something we need.
Yes. It’s on our list of things to look at.
The fact Defender is so integrated with its operating system is the reason we went with it.
