Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing

Our company is a value added reseller and we have thousands of customers who run all the flavors of Microsoft Dynamics (SL, GP, NAV, BC, F&O) as well as just use our cloud hosting services. We use Dynamics 365 Marketing as both a sales tracking solution and a support tracking solution. It is fully integrated into Outlook and SharePoint as well as the projects defined in DevOps for any functional or development work that may be required.

Pros

  • Tracking support cases' response time and communication
  • Linking support and sales opportunities to projects defined in DevOps
  • Tracking communication with customers for both support and sales

Cons

  • Tracking billable time into F&O is not available
  • CRM does not have visibility into DevOps progress, only status
  • Some elements of the support ticket are not user friendly
  • The speed of implementation is much faster than other solutions used
  • Integrations in the Microsoft stack are much more straightforward
  • Utilization of Marketing for multiple aspects of our business saves money on additional subscriptions
While it is better than other solutions as far as implementation speed, some of the aspects are not as "out of the box" as far as managing support and sales tasks for a consulting company like ours. Some support elements are not shared between the software and hosting, and we all have to use the same system.
Salesforce has much better reporting capabilities inside the system, where Dataverse has to be utilized for building sources for Business Intelligence reporting. This is not as real-time as Salesforce, but the ability to configure and integrate the system into the Azure stack is much greater and well worth the inconvenience.

Do you think Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing again?

Yes

Having used both Salesforce and Microsoft Marketing, the integration is much tighter and the automation and workflow is much tighter using PowerAutomate. Reporting on tasks is better in Salesforce, but the ability to fully and quickly integrate into the Microsoft Azure stack is well worth the hassle of quickly generating reports.
