Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Entra ID

We use Microsoft Entra ID to provide authentication & authorization to our end users for all cloud solutions that are used within the company. It provides easy single sign-on capabilities to a lot of enterprise applications.

Pros

  • Useful security standards around password complexity, etc...

Cons

  • Fairly expensive
  • Limited reporting
  • Quick roll-out for MFA
  • SSO between applications
We currently have both on-prem identities that are synced to the cloud as well as cloud-only identities. We have local AD and also use a local Identity Management system.
Yes, but very limited. We are still in the early stages of our cloud adoption, so the amount of apps is still limited beyond Microsoft apps.
Easy to set-up MFA methods, fast sign-in. As we keep adding more applications to our tenant, we'll see more benefit from the SSO functionality as well.

Microsoft Entra ID provides easy management for users & groups in the cloud. We still use local Active Directory and are slowly integrating more and more with the cloud.
Currently we mainly integrate cloud solutions/applications with Microsoft Entra ID, while keeping our locally developped apps integrated with on-prem solutions.

Using Microsoft Entra ID

10000 - Everyone in the organization use EntraID in some capacity for authentication purposes.
From an actual engineering purpose there are about 10-20 people that use it to apply conditional access policies, configure MFA, check logs, ...
10 - People with technical and analytical skills to be able to support end users with issues by analysing the problems based on sign-in logs.

People with experience in Identity & Access management to setup correct conditional access policies, configure SSO applications, ...
