Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am using Microsoft Entra ID for getting a secure session for the Azure cloud. Previously, the main business problem was to handle the unauthorized access to the cloud and applications. Microsoft Entra ID creates a separate ID to use them. This basically helps us to get secured cloud access or any other on-premises application. This is mainly helping organization to manage Identity and access of employees. The main feature of Microsoft Entra ID is it automatically verifies the credentials of a user and allows us to get a protected work environment. In current project, it is helping us to get secured work environment so that no other user can access to our data.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Automatic verification of ID credentials.
Provides the protected environments over the cloud and for on-premises applications.
Helping organizations to manage identities and protecting them.

Cons

UI development can be improved.
The administrative tasks are a bit complex; they can be simplified.
Sometimes gets errors when somebody is having personal account with this.
Navigation is bit confusing.

Return on Investment

It helped organization in risk mitigation and compliance problems.
The user experience and satisfaction has been improved.
Implementation and training cost is more.
Organizations would have a dependency on the Microsoft ecosystem, which is a negative point.
it has increased productivity.

Deployment

I have Microsoft Entra ID to get the access to azure cloud and few on-premises application in my organization. Its helps in securely get into the servers and do my work. Sometimes, while deployment of some cloud projects, Azure Active Directory Integration we do. It basically provides high availability across the globe.

Multi-App Security

I do not use this to secure any such applications.

I have connected Microsoft Entra ID with the Microsoft cloud apps like Azure Dynamics and Microsoft Office 365. Also used it in on-premises applications like LDAP to Active directory integration.

End User Experience

After deployment of Microsoft Entra ID, we do not need to enter our credentials for each application, through this we can directory login to the company portal through the ID and can access any application we want. The security has been enhanced because it discards the unauthorized accesses. Also Managing the password has become very easy. The Microsoft Entra ID gives us a unified access management window.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Entra ID is far better than any other such application. It provides a high availability of user access and security. They have a managed and unified access policies and panel. It prevents the unauthorized accesses. Microsoft Entra ID having far better features. Many large organizations are using Microsoft Entra ID to centralize their employee data and access.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited for: I would say Microsoft Entra ID is good for large-scale companies who requires the centralized way of managing identities and securing them. It gives MFA feature which gives data protection and prevention of unauthorized access to the cloud and other applications.

Less suited for: Microsoft Entra ID is low suited for those companies who have budget constraints and have lower security needs to the data. So basically, it's not that well suited for small scale organizations.
