Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power BI

Power BI is used by developers for data analysis by creating graphs and reports. This tool is used lightly for quick and easy data visualization when Excel isn't good enough.

Pros

  • Cost effective graphing and reports
  • Can create personal dashboards
  • Can export to Excel
  • Slicer tools for data filtering

Cons

  • Better built-in functions/formulas. Some are too limited.
  • UI is a little bulky and can be slow to load.
Microsoft Power BI is a free data analysis tool where similar products have a cost. I haven't really used other tools to be able to compare.
Doing data analysis for Database's data to Excel spreadsheets is appropriate when using Power BI. Excellent for things like comparing data across years/months/days, building aggregates, and/or finding trends in data. This is not for integrating any of this functionality into an application, this software runs on your machine only.
