Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Microsoft Copilot is incredibly helpful in creating powershell scripts and other automation tasks. Copilot can quickly put together automations that can then be fine-tuned by users in a fraction of the time it takes to create a full script or automation from scratch. Copilot has enabled us to better automate tasks with our current workforce.

Output is sometimes text and sometimes a download.
Copilot of Office apps isn't very effective.
Summarizing items has poor formatting.

Usability

Security Copilot is very usable today. Although it's still being developed and implemented, it shows great promise. Threat response and investigation are more streamlined. It is also covered under Microsoft's BAA, which is very helpful to healthcare organizations in bolstering their security operations. Overall, it adds major value to security.

Alternatives Considered

Adlumin, an N-able company, Huntress and Cynet 360

Copilot is already integrated with and built for the Microsoft stack. It lives in it natively, versus integrating with a third-party. You always know where your data is stored and used. The HIPAA compliance aspect is a big factor to as some third parties will not sign a BAA with organizations or require a higher tier.

Security Copilot is well-suited for dedicated security teams and organizations that can afford the product. Quicker responses, insights, mitigation, and remediation can all be achieved more efficiently and effectively with the help of Copilot. Security Copilot is less suited for small teams, which is better suited for a dedicated MDR.
