Microsoft Copilot for Security Worth it
Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Security Copilot
Microsoft Copilot for Security acts as a virtual cybersecurity assistant that helps us streamline threat detection, incident response, and compliance management. It seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and Intune, and Copilot leverages AI to interpret the majority of our security data and provide actionable insights through natural language prompts. Being that we are a small company, it makes it much easier for our SOC to respond to incidents and be proactive in their day to day operations.
Pros
- Investigate incidents faster by summarizing alerts and correlating signals across systems
- Respond to breaches with guided remediation steps.
- Analyze user behavior to identify internal risks or compromised accounts.
Cons
- It is super expensive, which can be a turn off for many small businesses looking to leverage its capabilities
- It can be very complex to set up, with many prerequisite steps that need to happen prior to being able to use it
- With all AI-based solutions, it can sometimes hallucinate, but that is to be expected at some level
- It has helped to protect our infrastructure from MITRE ATT&CKS, provide information on the the latest CVE's, and other methods of compromise, allowing us to prepare in advance and remediate in real time.
- The fact that it integrates so well with Microsoft Sentinel allows us to read and review alerts in real time, making it much easier for our SOC to respond
- Its detailed reporting allows us to provide insight to our C-level management, and other decision makers, about how important of a product it is to our organization, and why it is worth the cost.
