Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft SQL Server
We have been using SQL Server through AWS RDS and it is our main tool in terms of data. All collected data from our system goes directly to the SQL Server before going to RedShift. So, we call it internally our live data and it contains everything in real-time.
Pros
- It's the most used Database so it's mandatory to have knowledge for most of the roles today
- You can find anything your need related to SQL Server on forums
- Easy Implementation
Cons
- I don't see too much to improve but maybe a more intuitive or graphical way to monitor the performance
- It keeps all of our data
- The performance is quite good which is mandatory for our organization
- Since we can use RDS - SQL Server it was really good to use it in our AWS environment
- Without SQL Server we wouldn't be able to store our live data with a satisfactory time response.
I think both tools are really powerful and close to each other but since I moved to Europe I realized that most of the companies have been using SQL Server which in my opinion means something. The support from Microsoft I also consider a bit better and you can also find more information about SQL Server by yourself.
