Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Visual Studio

We use Visual Studio Code in multiple areas of the business. Engineering team, the majority of us use the product and have come to use it often when we’re peer programming, too.

Pros

  • Peer programming.
  • Lots of plugins for eslint etc.
  • Layout of the files.

Cons

  • Too many buttons in one place sometimes. Learning curve is high.
  • Would be good to be able to export and import productivity tool setup.
  • Easy to create new components to copy and paste from another file.
  • Fast and easy to debug.
  • Good when it has plugins that will help with productivity.
Very customizable and very easy to use once set up.
For beginners, the other tools are easier to set up and run. It is also entirely customizable, but Visual Studio Code has more plugins that allow you to streamline your work.

Do you think Microsoft Visual Studio delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Microsoft Visual Studio's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft Visual Studio live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Microsoft Visual Studio go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Microsoft Visual Studio again?

Yes

It is very good to be able to share your code in a peer programming session. Very good for building code. Setup is difficult if you lose all your productivity plugins, though.
