Overall Satisfaction with Mimecast Advanced Email Security

We've been using Advanced Email Security in our organisation for around 2 years now. We have about 50-60 incoming mail domains for about 800 internal users, so it's quite a complicated set-up.
Before Mimecast we were using the Microsoft Defender built in email security and it took us about 30 minutes daily to review and resolve the last 24 hours of emails that had been incorrectly caught as SPAM, or others that were held.

Pros

  • Now that we're using Mimecast we don't spend any regular time at all, as its all automated and false positives are quite rare. If they do get caught its very quick to find and release the email in question.
  • If I have a technical problem, Mimecast support is very quick to respond and they have good technical skillsets to resolve.
  • Can be customised very well, and easily laid out to understand

  • We've saved 30 minutes a day by implementing Mimecast email protection
  • Its easy to scale up when required
Compared to Microsoft Defender, the console is so easy to find what you need and easy to use

End users are comfortable with the security that this product provides compared to Microsoft Defender where SPAM protection was not seen as being a reliable service that the IT Department provided to them.

Now that we're using Mimecast, we don't spend any regular time on it, as it's all nicely automated, and false positives are quite rare. If they do happen, they're very quick to find and release.
Its suited very well to complex environments due to the customisation that is possible.
