Overall Satisfaction with Mimecast Advanced Email Security

We use Mimecast as our primary email gateway for all incoming and outgoing traffic for the organization. The core features that we primarily use is the strong anti spam filtering, DKIM signing of all outgoing traffic, automatic addition of warning banner for external senders on the incoming emails, attachments and URL and QR protections, as well as impersonation protection.

  • Reduction in administrative cost, as admin need less time troubleshooting deliverability issues
The policy builder allows for many customizations, with the end results of the rule base fitting any scenario
Integrates seamlessly with O365, but also allows for integration with custom mail infrastructure. Ideal for O365 setups, as it allows also monitoring of internal communication, SSO for end users to manage they preferences and lists and also great impersonation integration.
Yes, the migration for incoming traffic from another anti spam solution provided by the mail hosting provider was just a matter of modifying MX records to point to Mimecast. The outbound traffic requires a "training" period of couple of weeks, to allow the automatic creation of safe list. Overall, the incoming traffic can be migrated in a matter of hours, with the ongoing requiring more time and effort (creation of DKIM signatures, etc)
Mimecast had a very positive impact in comparison to previous solution, greatly reducing spam emails, adding advanced threat protection features and powerful outbound mechanism.
Mimecast offers the same or better features with great pricing. It is definitely a value for money product, that constantly provide improved and new features. Also the learning academy allows for self-paced training of administrators.

Mimecast is a great solution for someone who needs to protect enterprise email communication with with minimum effort. The solution can be deployed in production within a matter of hours. Also it offers great integration for O365, but works well with custom mail infrastructures as well. I cannot think of a scenario where the solution wouldn't be applicable.
