Overall Satisfaction with NEOGOV Insight

We use NEOGOV Insight as our only recruitment and selection tool. We create our job postings and screen/score candidates, refer for interviews, schedule interviews, send reference check notices, process the hires by creating e-offers and eventually Onboard new hires using the Onboard platform. Equitable selection process & diverse hiring is key to our organization. NEOGOV Insight provides the PII binding feature which helps us to reduce bias and promote equity in recruitment.

Pros

  • Auto-screening feature.
  • Create e-offers and have candidates sign digitally.
  • Copying classification spec page content into job postings/exam plans to help create postings quickly and efficiently.

Cons

  • "Quick apply" or "One-click apply" button for applicants.
  • Copying a classification Spec page or a template to make it easy & quick to create new class spec pages.
  • Customized reports to create hiring dashboards for leadership.
  • It is only 3 of us in the Recruiting team. By using the automated features in Insight (Auto-screen) we are able to screen 400-500 postings (about 6000-7000 applications we receive) each year .
  • Creating/sending the offer letters and receiving the signed offer letters back from the candidates took us an average of 3-7 business days when we were doing it outside of NEOGOV Insight. It takes only a few hours or 1-2 days for us by using the e-offer feature in NEOGOV Insight. The number of days to fill a vacancy has decreased significantly.
It requires some self-teaching, exploring, and tech expertise to use NEOGOV Insight efficiently. There are a lots of features that aren't easily available and requires some research and trial-error. Its not very user-friendly and the features/interface of NEOGOV Insight changes often times with new upgrades and enhancements. So an NEOGOV Insight user needs to be somewhat tech-savvy and willing to be flexible and adaptable.

Yes

NEOGOV Insight is great as an one-stop for the entire recruitment and selection process. It is well suited for our mid-size organization of about 2000 employees and about 400-500 postings (in average) every year. You need to have team members with some technology expertise to use NEOGOV Insight. It's not super user friendly. If hiring teams aren't comfortable navigating a system that requires tech background then it is not appropriate for your organization.
