Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use this software for AI. It integrates well for AI. Extremely simple to upload and fax medical records and other information on patients. Integrates well with faxing, and all of our optical equipment. Seems fairly easy to troubleshoot when there are problems but we have support through Nextgen to help with that. Template editing can be simple when problems arise. 9 X out of 10X NG will have a work around when there is a problem.

Luma Pay/Referrals - Integrates with the EHR- Inform patients and physician offices when appmts are schedule for their patients that have been referred and if there are outstanding balances for existing patients can let the patient know they have a balance.
AI - save having to hire scribes and can decrease staff. This information automatically integrates into the chart.
Decrease staff when our equipment is integrated to download information in the chart and not have to manually enter.

Mobile EHR

We just started using AI with another company, but we are not a beta client for Ambient. Really excited to begin the use of this.

Usability

At this practice which is Ophthalmology, we have been using NG EHR for years and it has been the best system for us. The ease of integrating with recommended products that NG suggests has been absolutely phenomonal.

Alternatives Considered

Amazon Athena and Cerner HealtheIntent

NG is like no other software I have ever used. I thought if you used one software they are all alike. Not this software, it is totally different but let me tell you very thorough and it also can track anything that anyone has done in a work day. Good auditing system.

Luma - integrates well with Nextgen. Contacts patients regarding appointments. Contact patients regarding referrals incoming and outgoing and all of this is documented in the chart. Electronically attaching records that come in through e fax. Very nice feature. Downside is there is slowness sometimes but that is because it is asp and we are not on our own servers. The ability to send charges to billing w/o having to use a fee ticket is also wonderful.
