Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Dyn Email

My organization uses the DYN email to send email for a variety of political campaigns from small local races, to statewide, and national organizations. All lists are from different sources and have different user needs. Our email use stays low in the non-election years, steady through most election years and then spikes quite high in the last 4 months of the election cycle.

  • Very easy to set up and integrate with other services.
  • I did have some difficulty diagnosing some of the issues I was having with one major ESP
  • The user interface can be slow and is outdated
  • Our inbox placement has increased with this system.
  • We have been better able to find and fix deliverability issues with this system
  • The increase in deliverability has led to more opens and better message penetration for our clients.
While the UI is a little outdated, this system is FAR easier to set up and manage that some other services we have used. Also, our questions to the support team are answered quickly and fully within an hour of submitting a ticket. We have had other services where questions were answered 24 hours later AT THE EARLIEST. Not so with DYN.
We have had to use the support tool a few times. Each time, my initial question was answered quickly, and follow up were dealt with directly by the same person, not put back into a queue for someone else to pick up. Good team with a good sense of what you are asking (even if you are not the most technologically advanced user.)
Using this service across multiple services allows us to negotiate better and be flexible while still maintaining deliverability. We use a few different systems to manage our databases and format our emails - having the ability to use DYN with all services allows us to continue to get emails delivered, and force those systems to do better.
This platform is well suited for a large volume email sender with a dedicated ESP provider for formatting and database management. It is not a system used to manage a database or code emails.

A less advanced user would be happier in a MailChimp type system, but they would not have the deliverability that you can get with this system.
