Overall Satisfaction with Oracle GoldenGate
We are using GoldenGate as an HA solution. We find GoldenGade better than Oracle Data Guard in terms of HA. Our application is up and running on a primary and DR site and we can switch to the DR site within 1 minute. We are having quite a very big GoldenGate footprint of around 10000+ GoldenGate processes setup. GoldenGate is quite beneficial in terms of HA and cost of ownership.
- GoldenGate is tightly integrated with Oracle database. So, using GoldenGate with Oracle DB is a very good combination.
- Easy to set up.
- it has a lot of options to transform and handle various business needs.
- There are some bugs.
- Extracts are having some issues in some weird scenarios.
- Need to see better functionality related to conflict resolution and range partitions.
- Good ROI. GoldenGate licensing is quite competitive.
