Overall Satisfaction with Oracle SCM Cloud

At our company, we are using the supply planning cloud projects to shape and forecast our demand and then pass it off to our supply organization so that they can plan and build our products. Oracle SCM Cloud will eventually be used across our global organization. It helps us control our inventory and delivery products to our customers on time.

Pros

  • Allows you to visualize your data in more graphical manners.
  • Provides a solid configurable forecasting engine.
  • It's user configurable which helps to deliver the results you are looking for.
  • Product is keeping up with the speed of innovation - constantly being improved and pushed out to the customers.

Cons

  • We would love to see more improvement around the area of shelf life availability for dated products.
  • General improvements in speed for handling large volumes of data.
  • We expect to reduce our inventory footprint.
  • We expect to increase our customer satisfaction through improved forecasting.
  • We expect to free up planner time to work on more improvement projects because they can complete planning tasks more efficiently.
We selected Oracle SCM Cloud because it was what our entire company is using for other functions outside of SCM. It did not make sense to bring in another product to run cloud planning. It would have lead to too much integration and confusion having the systems try to speak to each other. The products are comparable, but the Oracle products seem to be developing and improving more quickly than most.
Oracle SCM Cloud is a flexible product that offers many solutions for users. It can work for large and small companies across many industries. The beauty is that you don't have to own the entire cloud suite to take advantage of these cloud products. The products are developing and evolving rapidly.
