Overall Satisfaction with Paychex
We use Paychex for Payroll for our small non-profit organization. We do not have someone that has the expertise to implement payroll and require help with it.
Pros
- Staff are paid bimonthly
- I get notice for payroll prior to the due date
- If we need any other services they are very communicative
- People are nice to deal with on the phone.
Cons
- We have had issues with communication, I don't alway get responses from emails to payroll advisor.
- One time the payroll was not submitted to the State and we were fined, it took about 9 months to be reimbursed for the error.
- I never hear from the payroll representative, and when I email, I hear from 3-4 different people, too many cooks in the kitchen.
- Onboarding new employees is very difficult now, it used to be easier, but now it is challenging and mistakes were made that took hours to unwind.
- No timesavings for me, it has been a big waste of my time dealing with issues.
- Efficiency not great either - mistakes have been made
- Some employees can access online portal, others have trouble
Positively - I use the reporting for 1099 and budgetmaking. The reports are fine and I have no isssue with it.
I used Bangor Payroll prior to Paychex and they were better than Paychex. I didn't select Paychex, it was already at the organization when I joined it.
