Overall Satisfaction with Paychex Flex

Company-wide usage for Time & Attendance, Payroll, and Flex. Other areas used include Analytics, HR, BenAdmin, and Retirement services. It automates processes for streamlined production of timekeeping and payroll.
  • Automation, combining multiple processes into one hub
  • Multiple glitches are experienced at random times. We frequently have problems with the facial recognition software for the kiosks, have had random deductions blocked on payroll, and had salary employees attempt to be double paid, to name a few examples.
  • Streamlined the payroll/time and attendance process by having everything in one place (Positive), but manual entry is required most of the time due to the kiosks not recognizing our employees (Negative).
We are looking into ADP and similar companies that can provide the same products and services. We are not done with our research, so it is difficult to assess the strengths and weaknesses between Paychex Flex and its competitors.
Our first representative was extremely helpful, but getting her time and attention was hard at times due to her frequent absences. It took nearly 1.5 years to get everything ironed out from implementation to a smoother process due to taxes and other issues that needed to be corrected from the start. We have had some glitches with pay rates that caused some issues, but instead of scheduling upcoming pay increases, we submitted them the day they are effective as the changes didn't take previously.

Overall due to the glitches experienced.
This platform may be better suited for those who do not need to clock in and out as the facial recognition software has a hard time recognizing employees, frequently displays errors with the connection or customer ID, and seems to operate with minimal moving parts. The more things are in motion, the more times we find errors that have to be addressed. The vacation balances between Paychex Flex and Time & Attendance have never fully matched which causes problems for administration by supervisors and HR. I believe this platform has much potential but has some bugs that need to be fixed which don't appear to be a priority.
