Church Treasurer Loves Paychex Flex

I used Paychex Flex to manage the payroll of church staff and the church preschool staff. Payroll is bi-weekly (twice a month), 8 staff are paid twice a month, 20 staff are paid once a month. Paychex Flex is able to support this varied payroll and charge accordingly. As a volunteer Treasurer of the church, using Paychex Flex greatly simplifies payroll management and payment of federal and state payroll taxes and producing the yearly W-2s. Prior to 2016 when I started using Paychex Flex, I managed the payroll using spreadsheets for each staff member, I had to print the checks and distribute the checks, each month I had to complete and submit the federal and state payrolls taxes, and then quarterly prepare the 941 reports for Federal and state and submit online. Creating the W-2s was a monumental task summarizing the payroll, getting a W-2 spreadsheet prepared and then manually entering the numbers into the online Federal system. Manually managing this is very time consuming and open to making mistakes. I was not sure that Paychex Flex would be the answer, especially having to pay for the service. But I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the online application is to use. It provides data storage of the staff information, the ease of entering the payroll data each payroll, the great reports that Paychex Flex produces with each payroll, the federal and state payroll tax payment service, quarterly submission of federal and state 941 reports, the direct deposit for staff payroll, and preparation and distribution of W-2s. I can't forget the great support I received from my payroll specialist. Switching to Paychex Flex relieved me of time consuming tasks, provided me the assurance that everything was correct, provided the staff a way to track their pay and receive direct deposit, no more waiting for paper checks.
