Overall Satisfaction with Paychex Flex

We use Paychex Flex to manage our payroll and process it. It is an easy way to keep track of employees' hours and PTO, etc.
  • Simple entry of employees' hours
  • Keeps track of PTO
  • Easy to modify profiles of current employees and to change employment status
  • Salaried employees' salaries take a few clicks to enter. It shouldn't be that hard. The system does know their salaries but it should populate automatically in the box.
  • I always change the check date so I am not charged a rush fee. I have to do this before I start. It should not be so strict. Also the default should not be one day and apparently this can't be changed. So I have to remember to do it manually every time.
  • Much more efficient than calling in hours for payroll.
  • The system is very useful to check current PTO and salary settings.
  • Everything is pretty user friendly so I don't have to talk to a person to get it done. Much more efficient overall.
I have not used the reporting - N/A
Chat has been helpful but the person I chat with isn't always able to help me with my questions. Phone support is ok, depending on your payroll specialist. We have a great one currently, but the few before that were never available and did not return calls.
We didn't consider any other products.

Do you think Paychex Flex delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Paychex Flex's feature set?

Yes

Did Paychex Flex live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Paychex Flex go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Paychex Flex again?

Yes

Some things could be streamlined. For example, we could do custom options for the "add items" tab which has so many options that we never use. "Medical Pay" could be something that the system remembers for the applicable employees. Salaried employees' salaries should definitely be auto-filled. Overall the system works well but I think it could be improved to be easier to use and read.
It is great for entering payroll. I haven't used it for other services so I can't speak to that.

It works well for us and we are satisfied. We don't use it to its fullest extent but it is helpful for what we use it for.

We were already using paychex for payroll so it is fully integrated with that and works well.
