Overall Satisfaction with Pentaho

Pentaho is used for scheduled ETL between Remedy and other platforms to help centralize and enrich data.
  • Easy to use!
  • Reliable for small jobs
  • Open source
  • Easy to learn
  • Great community online
  • Fast
  • Open sourced
  • Running on our vendor's VM... could be the reason why we are seeing some data limitation issues
  • Future friendly
N/A, it's hard to say as this was what our vendor used and is using to load our data
With a built in AR Data source connector, setting this up was very easy. Currently we are using Pentaho to connect it to our multiple-discovery platform, HR user platform and exporting data from our AR system to various consumers of the data. Once I get started, most jobs take 1-2 hours of "coding". Very easy, and I am quite excited to hear about new projects that I can utilize Pentaho to help us deliver what the customer wants.
Pentaho has a community online that shares the jobs and transformations. Importing/exporting the jobs is a piece of cake. Within our internal cloud, I am able to share, open, review the jobs and transformations that he has created and we can work together to finalize them. However, the access control comes with the connections themselves; if you don't have access, you don't have access and cannot do much with the tools to help shape and transform the data.
Open sourced ETL tool to help corporations load data. Very easy to learn but you have to take the time to do it! Lots of reading and exploring by yourself and there are some free jobs and transformations online to help you get started. However, we have heard and seen cases with the jobs just do not load the data entirely; it'll have issues after 50K records.
