Overall Satisfaction with Pixlr

Pixlr is used by our organisation as a cheaper and more accessible version of photoshop. We use it to create graphics for our campaigns, as well as posters, report covers and other visual content for our work. Given that we use laptops with limited storage, we appreciate the web-based platform that Pixlr provides.
  • Enables the user to use a range of fonts even in foreign languages
  • Is relatively easy to learn
  • Is cost-effective
  • The previous version of Pixlr, albeit more basic, was a lot easier to use
  • Would be good to have pop up labels explaining what different tools are for
  • More videos and resources showing how to do the basics would be helpful
  • Foreign language font support
  • Magic erase to remove backgrounds quickly from images
  • Ability to save layers and return to edit content at a later date
  • Pixlr has enabled us to design beautiful graphics in the local Cambodian language
Pixlr has additional tools and a wider range of functionality than Piktochart and Canva and other similar tools. This can be a drawback for beginners, however for those staff who have more experience with graphic design it is very helpful in being able to get more creative with different editing options.

Do you think Pixlr delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Pixlr's feature set?

Yes

Did Pixlr live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Pixlr go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Pixlr again?

Yes

Pixlr is well suited if you need to design graphics quickly, and using foreign languages. The fact that even if you use a non-Roman script (in our case, Khmer) but can still design things beautifully, is a huge value add for our team. It is less well suited for absolute beginners to graphic design, who can find the myriad tools and functions overwhelming or confusing.
