Overall Satisfaction with Progress Sitefinity
We have been using Sitefinity to develop websites for clients for about 9 years. Over the years we have implemented Sitefinity to solve a variety of business requirements ranging from online documentation portals, to e-commerce. In several cases we have implemented a Sitefinity solely for online documentation with custom widgets to allow printing the entire site to PDF. For other customers we've implemented Sitefinity with e-commerce features to sell products and services. In a more unique implementation, we developed a new website using the e-commerce modules for Sitefinity, but customized it to act as an online product catalog allowing customers to find products they were interested in renting. We disabled all the purchasing ability and as our client handles all of the money transactions and product distribution locally.
- Content management works very well, from layout and design, to daily content updates.
- Sitefinity provides a high degree of customization for developers. This is very important for what we do, and enables us to deliver any website solution for our clients.
- Upgrading Sitefinity needs improvement. After nine years of performing numerous upgrades, it has almost always been painful.
- The eCommerce module and related widget could use more features and customization. We were able to utilize Sitefinity eCommerce in multiple scenarios with significant customization.
