Overall Satisfaction with Proofpoint Email Protection
We use Proofpoint Email Protection to protect our emails from malicious content coming into the organization. We also use it for DLP on outgoing emails.
Pros
- Good email protection and spam filtering
- Easy search for identifying emails coming in
- DLP protection has customization options to fit business needs
Cons
- Until you get to know why sections and config options are in a certain area it seems random and confusing.
- It would be better if it interacted with their other products more smoothly.
- Customizing the spam filtering can take a little while to dial in.
- Positive Impact: We were able to set external email banners to all emails externally to alert users that it could be dangerous; huge win.
- Positive Impact: We are able to rewrite header information so replies to sub domain emails (for DMARC enforcement) can be rewritten to other addresses so the mailbox team doesn't need to make mailboxes for sub domains.
- Positive Impact: There are a lot of good customization options to take advantage of for special case scenarios and routing.
I am not sure what else is out there so I can't really speak to how well it stacks up against others. I can say that it seems to be pretty good for us. It's robust and has good customization. It also has other systems within the Proofpoint family that it works with fairly well.

The features that Proofpoint Email Protection has are robust and customizable. And they have a good reputation in the space.
We could have changed but we renewed with them because of the relationship we have with them, the product and services they provide, and the support they have. The support is top notch!

Yes - It was resolved, but they had to wait until the next patch was out. I was about a week long wait for the fix but we had found a work around until it was resolved fully.
A time doesn't stand out because their support has always been exceptional. In fact, I can't think of a time when it wasn't.
