Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Windchill is the the software that we use for product lifecycle management. I am using this software for BOM Creation, Check in and check out of data and cloud storage for all design related documents. This software is being used by other departments to finalize make or buy and cost management also. It helps us to do ECR and ECN very smoothly.

Pros and Cons

VIEW PARTLIST.
ECN and ECR.
Design data storage and smooth access.
Workspace management.
Assy structure making.

Extract partlist should be directly in Excel because everyone time we have to convert it to Excel.
ECN report formatting need improvement.
Many times part no doesn't go to ERP even after ERP released state.

Most Important Features

ECR and ECN.
Cloud data storage for design documents.
Integration with CREO.

Return on Investment

It saves a lot more time and increases efficiency of team so it justifies its investment.

Alternatives Considered

Teamcenter

It has wonderful features and excellent customised facilities. It has wonderful integration with CREO and ERP. These features make this software my choice.

While doing Engineering change it suits the best and saves all the time and even you can conduct CFT meeting while doing ECN. You can easily attach all supporting documents for future reference. For big assy while extracting partlist it is very difficult to understand structure of assy so it can be more eye catching and easy to understand type partlist.
