Overall Satisfaction with Pure Storage FlashArray
We have 3 Pure arrays that are used across the whole organization. We run a VDI environment on it and lots of SQL that benefits from the all flash array. We have an array for development, production, and DR. Using the arrays in these 3 environments ensures that we do not have to sacrifice performance.
- Pure's dedupe algorithm allows us to save storage space considering we have several stacks running the same software.
- The evergreen program allows us to upgrade the controllers on our arrays every 3 years so we are always current.
- Support is amazing, they will work at fixing a problem even if it isn't on their end.
- There is nothing that I can think of that they could do better.
- I would like better notifications of new features.
- We have been able to expand our storage at a great cost savings and still benefit from SSD speeds
- Tegile and Nimble
Pure blows these other arrays out of the water, there is no comparison at all. Pure is clearly the leader in this market. The other 2 arrays do not perform up to the same standards as the Pure.
- We have been able to start using the VMAnalytics that is just recently released by Pure. THis has helped to track down issues with VMs and resolve them quickly.

Using Pure Storage FlashArray
500 - We run all of our applications and databases on Pure storage. With 4 arrays in production, we are able to provide extremely fast response times to every need. For day to day management, we only have a single user (me) that manages the arrays.
1 - The flash array is by far the simpliest array to manage. Also with Pure's proactive support, they will find issues before you know there is one. The remote assist feature allows them to log in remotely and fix most issues with no user intervention.

- Databases
- Virtual Desktops
- Fast restores
- ransomware protection with snapshots

Evaluating Pure Storage FlashArray and Competitors
Yes - Pure replaced Datadomain. It was a no brainer, Datadomain was a management nightmare and extremely expensive. Pure is low maintenance, relatively low cost, and efficient.
- Price
- Product Usability
- Product Reputation
- Analyst Reports
Product Usability, it is extremely simple to use, there is not much that anyone needs to learn in order to manage the array.
I would not change it, Pure would be our first choice as being the market leader.
Pure Storage FlashArray Support

Yes
We have the highest level of support. With this support we get immediate response and 3 year controller replacements for our storage arrays. We are never far behind on revisions.
We had a controller that went unresponsive. After working at it for several hours remotely, they had me reboot the controller. Once the controller came back up, I expected the support case to be closed. Instead, support kept the case open, collected logs, escalated the findings to their development team and included a bug fix into the next firmware release.
