Overall Satisfaction with Pure Storage FlashArray
We use FlashArray for our file data, SQL data, and Exchange DB's. Its Dedupe is great and allows for lots of storage at a good price.
Pros
- Dedupe on file storage is great.
- Active cluster allows for synchronous writes to multiple data centers for an active/active setup.
- Management of volumes and hosts is very simple from the web UI.
- 24/7 support is phenomenal.
Cons
- Direct visibility of protection groups from the VMWare console would be helpful for restoring data.
- Would like to be able to manage all FlashArrays from a single web UI.
- We are looking to move the rest of our data load onto Pure in the coming months, allowing us to save on large maintenance contracts from our previous storage vendor.
EMC VPLEX is what we have compared to Active Cluster. Pure outperforms EMC in spied, dedupe and overall cost.
