Good for small to med size payroll processing.
Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions
We use QuickBooks (QB) for all of our accounting and finance functions. I am personally involved with QB from a payroll, paid time off tracking and employee roster management standpoint. Our accounting/finance and HR teams are the only departments who are using it. QB addresses our ledger accounting, reporting, payroll, financial statements, etc.
Pros
- Relatively easy to use and learn the basics.
- Reliable. Can't recall the program ever being "down" for tech reasons.
- Basic payroll processing for in-house payroll is not hard to learn.
Cons
- Employee profiles could be more robust, like a true HRIS system.
- Canned reports can be difficult to manipulate.
- If you create different payroll modules they do not integrate with each other.
- Ability to produce a clear and transparent financial statements.
- Payroll reports are easy to understand and use for direct deposit, payroll taxes, 401K.
- Quick ramp up time for new users to learn basics.
QuickBooks is the first and only accounting software I have worked with. I have worked with other payroll processing software though and I give it a thumbs up. It's easy to learn the basics of payroll and how to run the canned payroll reports. I did not have input on selection of QuickBooks at my company, as that decision was made prior to me being hired.
