Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write
We have a school-wide license for Read & Write this school year. We initiated this purchase due to the merge of Co: Writer, Snap + Read with R&W. I am finding that R&W's word prediction is less accurate than Co: Writers for my students (i.e., it seems to have a more difficult time "guessing" what word the student is trying to write). We love that R&W seems to be improving in its ability to use text-to-speech on a larger variety of websites!
Pros
- Text to speech.
Cons
- Word prediction.
- We just started using r&w, I don't feel like I have enough data to contribute here, yet!
It is SO incredible that we can offer this program to our whole school at such an affordable price. I am a school-based OT/AT specialist, and I have struggled to convince my administration to purchase licenses in larger quantities for Snap+Read and Co: Writer; however, when these companies announced their merger with R&W, getting my admin team on board was SO easy. I'm in the process of creating training for all teachers on how to start integrating this resource with their classes!
Co:Writer - Co:Writer's word prediction is stronger than Read&Write's. Snap&Read - Read&Write is comparable so far.
