Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write

I assign it to students with print access disabilities, such as dyslexia and dysgraphia, and who need the help in order to access their school curriculum. In addition I use it for students I have approximately 30 students in the district using the program, as we do not use it as a UDL support program.

Pros

  • highlighting the material
  • rate of speed
  • word prediction

Cons

  • I find adding the dictionaries to be difficult to the word prediction
  • I cannot figure out how to change the reading level (readability) of the material
  • the picture dictionary could be improved
  • it increases learning opportunities for students
  • students feel like they can keep up
  • teachers can read student work
I am the only one in the district who uses it, as far as I am aware. And the customer support has been good.

Yes

Did implementation of Read&Write go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Read&Write again?

Yes

It is excellent for students with reading and writing disabilities. It is also helpful for students who are learning English as a second (or third) language. It can also be helpful for students who have physical access issues, such as only being able to use one hand or limited hand flexibility. It does not work great for students who require eye gaze to access tech.
