Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write
We use Read&Write for our curriculum - text to speech is what mostly it is used for. We do have an issue with it not being able to read PDFs, but have found a work around with the screen reader. We have students ranging from PK - 12 grade - the younger students are the ones that or course struggle the most. We are looking forward to using rewordify and the page simplifying for next school year.
Pros
- Rewordify for struggling readers
- Simplifying a page for kiddos that struggle to focus
- The Prediction feature is really nice!
Cons
- Sometimes the text to speech feature doesn't work correctly.
- The highlighting feature doesn't get utilized - virtual school environment.
- Translation would be better if it wasn't just a word at a time.
- increased engagement
- time saved
- improved learning experience
We have used this product to accommodate student's needs and for the most part has really done a good job. All teachers and students have the extension on their computers. We like that it can be used within our LMS, Google Suite and on PDFs. It is a bit harder to use on iPads though.
Our SPED department has really been able to use it with students that have special requirements on their IEP. I think it's wonderful that Read&Write has shown how much the product helps students with Dyslexia! We are a virtual school and need strong products to help families when the teacher is unavailable to help.
I wasn't the person that did the research on all of the different products that were looked at before choosing Read&Write.
