Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write
We are a University with a sitewide Read&Write license. Students use Read&Write for support with writing assignments or reading articles and textbooks.
Pros
- The AI enhanced voices recently added are a vast improvement.
- The Screen Masking feature is very useful.
- The students I work with find the dictionary to be beneficial as well.
Cons
- The chrome extension can be laggy based on internet connection.
- For universities, having the Talk & Type feature usable with Respondus Lockdown Browser would be amazing.
- Being able to access PDF files in chrome browsers would be a great improvement. Currently Everway has a separate extension called OrbitNote for that, but the AI enhanced voices are not available there.
- Read&Write is good value for the money we spend on it due to the number of students and staff who use it.
Our Accommodated Test Centre uses Respondus heavily, and Read&Write' Talk and Type feature does not work under those conditions.
Read&Write offers as many or more features, and similar performance, usually at a better price.
