Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is used for our business applications with Ansible for our automation.

Pros

  • evolves with the buisness
  • patching to combat vulnerabilites
  • ease of deployment

Cons

  • pricing models
  • audit control
  • because of the stability of the platform we are able to continue to expand our Linux foot print.
  • with our new tooling and automation we have been able to deploy and destroy at a rate 10x faster than our windows deployments
I come from the HP-UX environment and the ease to transition to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) has given me the opportunities to continue my career with the mirgration away from HPE
