Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat OpenShift

To provide a persistent always on platform for container environments. This allows for consistent replicated presentation of applications for the enterprise.

Pros

  • Application uptime.
  • Load balancing.
  • Developer access
  • Support

Cons

  • Storage drivers. Very difficult.
  • Error descriptions often cryptic.
  • Hard to trace relations.
  • Improvement to dev access
  • Great uptime for applications
  • Once configured remains consistent
Certainly impoved reputation with customers and peers. As we've matured with the product our ability to deliver consistent and reliable results improved as well.
So far we remain happy with the product and it does operate as designed. However it been a massive learning curve and we can't open to junior admins.

Tried kubernetes. Which was more a framework than platform.

Sso integration is a vast improvement enabled by Red Hat OpenShift and helps internal and external apps.

Less so with things needing readwritemany storage. Not good for database loads as well.
