Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat OpenShift

We started using Red Hat OpenShift for our loyalty programs. We are actively looking at other apps to move to Red Hat OpenShift.

Pros

  • Availability
  • Scalability
  • Reliability

Cons

  • The upgrades are a bit complicated without a TAM
  • I believe we have increased security posture with Red Hat OpenShift.
Our Devops team works well with our System Administration team for lifecycle management.
We are currently only using Red Hat OpenShift on prem, but we are exploring cloud options now.
  • Tanzu Data Services (Greenplum, GemFire, RabbitMQ and Tanzu SQL)
We did explore Tanzu, but felt Red Hat OpenShift was a better platform for us since we are a Red Hat shop.

Scaling is a huge deal for us since we have rushes over lunch and dinner times. The ability to scale and spin down instances to conserve resources is very helpful for us.
