Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (self-managed)

Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat OpenShift

We use Red Hat OpenShift to deploy COTS applications, low code platforms and internally build apps including Chatbots, RestFull APIs.

Pros

  • Security
  • Providing an opinionated set-up

Cons

  • Red Hat OpenShift use a lot of resources
  • We still see a lot of small and big bugs in add-ons like ODF
  • Decreased cost savngs
Slowly we see and increase in productivity of applications for most bought applications (COTS) we see an increase in cost due to complexity of deployment. But there is a trade-off that this is getting experience into to organisation used as a learning experience
We deployed Red Hat OpenShift 3.x onPremise and are now using an UPI installed Red Hat OpenShift 4.x on Azure. We are considering the move to ARO
