[...] Red Hat OpenShift Review
Software Version
Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (self-managed)
Modules Used
- OpenShift Virtualization
Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat OpenShift
mainly to run Telco workloads
Pros
- centralized and automated tools
- stability
- variety of operators available for different purposes
Cons
- hardcoded features (especially on IPI implementations)
- lack of clarity on documentation, specifically for HCP scenarios
- support sometimes is not excellent
- frequency of releases make complex to measure ROI, however I understand this is an industry standard, not OCP specific
Specifically for RedHat virtualzation, we have an excellent use case on where we got OpenStack control plane running on Red Hat OpenShift, this highly improves our efficiency by combining both legacy and new workloads on the same platform, saving costs on hardware and centralizing workload management
we only use on premises delivery model
- OpenStack and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
