Overall Satisfaction with Redwood Workload Automation
Redwood manages the workload of ERP platforms like SAP , oracle etc. It also has an additional feature of load balancing through nodes and can restrict the number of jobs running in parallel by entering the execution size limit in ECC queue.Redwood manages all complex jobs workflow processes.whenever we are experiencing issues with the Redwood system we can send log files to the Redwood support team by selecting get support files at top right corner of the Redwood window. Redwood software is supported in almost all web browsers, unlike other software that doesn't support it. when it comes to pros and cons.. Redwood software doesn't have much of cons but mentioning about my recent experience where i felt bit difficult to submit a job definition REST_POST_servicenowcreateincident in chains and using Snow URL to check if there are any error/failed jobs and then raise incident in Service now management. Scripting was neatly written inside the job definition which helped me a lot.
- Alerting module made my day-to-day life easier, using wildcard * option i had created a process alert source for killed and error jobs to send an email alert to all the recipients in the header mail
- Redwood comes with the pre-defined feature, which actually helps in managing process, promotion module helps in importing of jobs from SAP ECC systems
- Fuzzy search option to search similar words, wildcard search, creating filters of user choice with pre defined status etc..
- can improve the integration part to raise automated tickets/incidents in service now
- can add additional default time windows, and submit frames which helps in scheduling the batch job as per customer/business requirements.
- overall health check dashboard can be made to check the Redwood automation health.
- It solved many problems like we can take reports on how many jobs are running daily, mail alerts for job failures and platform agents connect and Dashboards.
- Scheduling of batches of Windows scripts and shell scripts having interdependencies.
- Very easy to install Redwood agent servers on any application server and Trigger the required jobs as per business requirements.
Redwood software has less coding/scripting with faster performance and delivery of business. Everything in Redwood has documentation from job definitions, reports, monitoring dashboards etc has documentation.New documents can be created by uploading the content file to fulfill business needs. Redwood jobs are imported directly from SAP system using SAP batch job definitions.
