Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Ridder iQ on premise with CRM, Sales, production Planning, Batch registration, SDK and a integration with AccountView for the financial reporting. We came from Plan de Campagne where the system was altered and/or customized in such a way that the implementor stopped with consulting the Software due to ourself. Later was Ridder iQ bought and instructed to make a blant copy, the new CEO came shortly after the purchases and stopped the implementation and restructured everything before starting to implement and going live. We are in the steel industry and require software which can fully integrated in our production facility and communicate with other CAD/CAM Software for Cost Based Activity and Just in Time delivery method.

Dutch Translation: We gebruiken Ridder iQ on-premise met CRM, verkoop, productieplanning, batchregistratie, SDK en een integratie met AccountView voor de financiële rapportage. We kwamen van Plan de Campagne, waar het systeem zo werd aangepast en/of aangepast dat de implementator de software niet meer raadpleegde vanwege onze schuld. Later werd Ridder iQ gekocht en geïnstrueerd om een blanco kopie te maken. De nieuwe CEO kwam kort na de aankoop, stopte de implementatie en herstructureerde alles voordat hij met de implementatie en livegang begon. We zijn actief in de staalindustrie en hebben behoefte aan software die volledig kan worden geïntegreerd in onze productiefaciliteit en kan communiceren met andere CAD/CAM-software voor kostengebaseerde activiteiten en just-in-time leveringsmethoden.

Cons

The production planning does not use the business calendar for buffer days between end date production and delivery date.
If the buffer days are on closed dates (weekend and/or Holidays) you have no buffer days at al which is mandatory for Just In Time delivery.
The production calendar progress is based on an employee (project hours) and not on the actual WIP.
WIP is a combined booking from machine/operator but is not deducted from in the planning budget if not linked tot project hours.
There is still no API (the SDK is only available for windows applications).
Industry 4.0 requires open standard communications for integrated use like a MES/SCADA system.
The SDK still does not implement anything other than a username/password.
Ridder iQ implements SSO for the client but the SDK does not offer a passwordless login for users in an external program. When using SSO users forget their password and are unable to change their password since the current password js mandatory for changing it.
Receiving items larger than the default trade size removes all reservations from the purchase order. The system has once a gain a required need for purchasing material due to this behaviour.
This is by intent of ECI, they think if a product which is made out of a 1x1 meter plate cannot be created out of a plate 2x2, many other steel company face this issue but they don't want to change this behaviour.
The SDK does not offer any way of custom views outside the clients acces, this leads to many API calls which is bad for the overal performance.
All custom views require to be created by a consultant and be out within your license.
There is no Forecast feature where time/material is resevered and/or creates a details BOM. We need to give forecasts to our suppliers in order to not run out of raw materials and get a better price.
Ideas.aha.io must be used by users for requesting new features or changes.
If you look at the top 10 request only 1 request is planned and all others are "Future consideration" or "Chances of being made".
This means the actual users are nog being heard and they continue their own vision instead of actually listening to their users.
Bij de productieplanning wordt geen gebruik gemaakt van de bedrijfskalender voor bufferdagen tussen de einddatum van de productie en de leverdatum.
Als de bufferdagen op gesloten data vallen (weekend en/of feestdagen), dan heeft u helemaal geen bufferdagen die verplicht zijn voor Just In Time-levering.
De voortgang van de productiekalender is gebaseerd op een medewerker (projecturen) en niet op de werkelijke WIP.

Er is geen prognosefunctie waarmee tijd/materiaal kan worden gereserveerd en/of een gedetailleerde stuklijst kan worden aangemaakt. We moeten onze leveranciers prognoses geven om te voorkomen dat grondstoffen opraken en een betere prijs te krijgen.
Ideas.aha.io moet door gebruikers worden gebruikt om nieuwe functies of wijzigingen aan te vragen.
Als je kijkt naar de top 10 verzoeken, dan is er maar 1 verzoek gepland. Alle anderen vallen onder het 'toekomstige overwegingsproces' of 'de kans dat het wordt uitgevoerd'-principe.
Dit betekent dat de daadwerkelijke gebruikers niet gehoord worden en dat zij hun eigen visie nastreven in plaats van dat zij daadwerkelijk naar hun gebruikers luisteren.

Usability

The software currently prevents us to go further in automation and performance. We get more orders and more forecast which dramaticcally decreases the overal performance. We also have troubles where the uses needs to see limited data in the software, but once executing workflows or reports are generated they lack permissions and things go sideways. A user should be able to execute a workflow in a specific condition where he deletes and object, and not having the delete permission all the time.

Dutch Translation: De software verhindert momenteel dat we verder gaan met automatisering en prestaties. We ontvangen meer orders en meer prognoses, wat de algehele prestaties drastisch vermindert. We hebben ook problemen waarbij gebruikers beperkte gegevens in de software moeten zien, maar zodra uitvoerende workflows of rapporten worden gegenereerd, missen ze rechten en gaat het mis. Een gebruiker zou een workflow moeten kunnen uitvoeren onder een specifieke voorwaarde waarin hij een object verwijdert, en heeft niet altijd de verwijderrechten.

50% of the resources are used for the cloud application which I understand. The software can be changed as the company whishes but should not be the goal. Many requests are not even taken seriously and not willing to changes it in the default. The customer is not actually being heard and/or good consultants have a limited time on relative short notice.

De klant wordt niet echt gehoord en goede consultants hebben maar beperkt de tijd en relatief korte termijnen.
