Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business Network
Firstly, European suppliers are not committed to changes, therefore, we figured out during pilot phase in Central Europe that common suppliers were not willing to register in SAP Business Network (at that time it was called Ariba Network). Furthermore, even if the usage is easy and a user can be trained within hours, it is hard to manage users, vendors etc.

- Document Exchange with suppliers
- Catalogue enablement
- Supplier companies
- Centralized governance increased
- Higher spend of maintenance
Due to the current solution. in my opinion, I cannot see more efficiency and an effective collaboration with my organization‘s vendors. The complains from the vendors increased during the last years and business partners tried to avoid registration in SAP Business Network. Nevertheless, SAP Business Network provides opportunities with regard to automation of processes in cooperation with IT advanced suppliers.
So far we haven’t seen and opportunities with regard to mitigate risk of and/or respond more quickly to supply chain distribution. Due to new law the risk mitigation is in focus of a lot of organizations but has not been enabled on an effective and easy way in SAP Business Network.
My organization is not using SAP Business Network for the purpose of supply chain activities.
